The Museum
Complex
The New Italy Museum Complex is recognized as representing
not only Italians in Australia, but their achievements and
accomplishments, a well as the joining together of the Italian
and non Italian community to recognize and commemorate the
contributions of those past and present.
In 1996 the effort put into New Italy Museum was rewarded,
with a Tourism Award received for the Museum Complex. The
following year the Museum won a New South Wales Cultural
Tourism Award. In October 1999 there was a special presentation
of the medal ‘Castellanetta della Republica Italiana’
by Italian Ambassador Dr Giavanni Castellaneta to Dr Florian
Volpato for his services to the community made at New Italy.
